Heads up wellness experts: Corporate America still wants to reduce health care costs. What success looks like now: programs that employees actually use.
That puts behavior modification programs on the ropes, according to a recent study by HR consulting firm Hewitt Associates. What’s hot now? Onsite medical clinics, pharamcies and preventative services, such as flu shots.
Wellness wizards, don’t give up. Focus on employee participation and the employers will continue to find it. Focus on implementing already funded programs, and get your share of the budget.

Vickie – you might find this interesting, but you probably won’t be surprised.
During some Google Adword campaign tests, the keywords “motivational speaker” and a collection of similar genre keywords earned a .79% overall long term click through rate.
A more focused Adwords campaign for “fitness speaker” and a collection of similar genre keywords earned a way more effieicnt 2.86% click through rate.
The number of actual leads developed in both cases greatly favored the fitness campaign, but the search volume for the fitness keywords is a fraction of the ‘motivational speaker’ keywords.
I still have yet to actually convert any of the leads to actual speaking gigs, but that could be due to other issues like the quality of my video (not quite there yet) and possibly other web site related issues that I am trying to learn more about.
Cheers,
Greg
I agree Greg — the more specific the keywords, the more efficient rates. Something else to explore the lack of conversion: differentiation. If you are seen as “one of many” when these strangers visit your site, they won’t take the next step to contact you. It doesn’t matter what your video looks like — they’ll never listen to it.
